LONDON ZOO poster project

A-Level Coursework: Rebranding London Zoo.

This project involved me designing a series of 4 new posters for London Zoo, with minimal colour palettes and inspired by old vintage travel posters (e.g. LNER train & railway posters). I explored textures and hand drawn text, but in the end settled on an entirely digitally created series, with the final images being edited into various stock photos where you might see them in London.

(This was not a paid commission by London Zoo, this was simply a design brief given to me for my A-Level coursework)

slide film project

A series of posters created for old films, using images from vintage slides and manually adding colour to them. When designing them, I tried to pair the slides with films which include scenes that look similar to the images I created.

AMSTERDAM PRINTS

Abstract designs I created using plasticine prints I’d made around Amsterdam (e.g. leaves, patterns on lampposts and tables, etc.)

DELI ARTWORK

A-Level Coursework: Design branding for a delicatessen.

For this project, I was tasked with designing branding for a delicatessen and chose to work minimalistically with handmade textures and illustrations. For some of the packaging, I created textures with the intention of using them some certain pieces, e.g. bubble and circle patterns for juice boxes and lemonade bottles. I also created a simplistic logo, which incorporates imagery you would often associate with deli.

WHITEHAWK f.c. MATCH POSTER

This project was part of a competition commission set for my Art Foundation course by Whitehawk Football Club.

The club wanted to display a match-day poster which captured the spirit of the club and the dedication of the fans. Influenced by this, I illustrated a busy, enthusiastic crowd, which included characters inspired by actual members who would often watch Whitehawk matches.

PRINTING TECHNIQUES

These are a variety of printed pieces, exploring colour, shapes and techniques (including block printing, etching and screen-printing).

OBSERVATIONAL DRAWINGS

Here are a variety of observational drawings, exploring different media, techniques and styles.

FASHION BRANDING

A-Level Coursework: Creating our own fashion/clothing company and designing the branding for it.

For the project, I created a fashion company which focusses on flower imagery, scientific diagrams and minimal colour palettes with accents of bold colour. In terms of a final outcome, I looked at creating packaging and a brochure/catalogue/lookbook, which you can see here.

MOVIES THROUGH THE DECADES PROJECT

A-Level Coursework: Creating posters for a film festival.

For this design brief, I explored different decades of the film industry and ways of showing some of the most iconic films of each decade. I love watching films, so I loved this brief and enjoyed creating simple illustrations for over 20 different movies. Each of the images is placed in a small square, with the overall appearance of the poster inspired by film strips.
